Nurse Practitioner NP / Family Practice / Clinic

Job Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner NP is to be an integral part of the health care team performing under the responsibility and supervision of a licensed physician and as such is to be considered and extension of the physician. Additional Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner NP role include but are not limited to:

Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories
Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results
Documents patient care services in our electronic medical record
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations
Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; providing counselling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance
Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements
Focusing on Brooklyn and Bronx

Job Requirements

We are looking for dedicated and professional Nurse Practitioner / NP who is committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. It is also important that you are highly organized and that you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Specific qualifications for the Nurse Practitioner NP role include:

Must be a graduate of a New York State Department of Education and/or CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education & Accreditation) approved program for Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners
Must be registered in the State of New York with the New York State Education Department Division of Professional Licensing Services pursuant to Section 6531 of the Education Law.
Must be certified by the NCCPA or eligible to sit for the National Certifying Examination with successful completion with one year of employment
Must complete 100 hours of CME every two years in compliance with the NCCPA requirements
Must sit for the re-certifying examination when applicable after receiving NCCPA Certificate or maintain certification
Must be certified in Basic CPR and ACLS within six months of employment and maintain certification thereafter
Must maintain a current Infection Control Certificate and maintain certification thereafter
Bilingual in Spanish & English Preferred
