Job Title: Pathologists' Assistant
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Shift: Day Shift (rotating between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Duties: 5-10 Frozen Sections per day, no autopsies

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pathologists' Assistant to join our team in Spartanburg, SC. This role involves assisting pathologists in performing various laboratory tasks, with a primary focus on frozen sections, while providing support for diagnostic pathology work. The position offers a dynamic work schedule with rotating shifts and an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-quality medical environment. No autopsies will be performed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pathologists in the preparation and examination of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform 5-10 frozen section procedures daily.
  • Process and prepare specimens for further examination and diagnosis.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all procedures and findings.
  • Collaborate closely with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure that all safety and infection control protocols are followed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Pathologists’ Assistant or related field.
  • Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Pathologists’ Assistant is preferred.
  • Experience with frozen section preparation and laboratory techniques is a plus.
