Description
Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage at a facility located in Williamsburg, VA. Candidates must have experience working with acute adults inpatient populations.Job Quick Facts: • Ref #: BD-114-29 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Psychiatrist • Job Type: Contract/Locum • Location: Williamsburg, VA • Coverage Type: Clinical • Coverage Period: 3-6 months • Facility Type: Hospital • Start Date: ASAP • Shift Schedule: Mon to Fri, 8am - 5pm; with 1 Hour Lunch Break • Once a month, Participation in Lunch Coverage Call (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) • Patient Demography: Adults (male & female) • Caseload: 40-45 (varies by ward and assignment) • Rate: $200-$215/hr Requirements: • Active VA license • BC/BE in General , Geriatric Or Forensic Psychiatry • BLS/ACLS Certification • DEA Certificate • Proficiency in EHR (Cerner Millennium) documentation • 3+ more years as a Physician/Practitioner • Strong experience working with patients having Serious Mental Illness (SMI) • Psychiatric Crisis Management and Forensic experience, a plus • Experience working with adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult and geriatric populations. • Comfortable working on admissions work up and potential rapid turnover Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient population. • Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner. • Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders. • Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures. • Monitors patients’ progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed. • Consults with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status. • Collaborates with attending psychiatric practitioner if needed providing DSM-5 Diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessment. • Provides coverage to the medical clinic, the admission suit to ensure the admission process is completed. • Prescribes medications at the lowest effective dose in accordance with rational clinical practices. Assesses and address medication side-effects and report adverse drug reactions. • Ensures timely and quality documentation (admissions, follow-up and annual, etc.) in patient records in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
