Weekend General Surgery Call Coverage Locums Job in Northern Illinois | Proactive Privileges for Future Dates of Coverage | One to Two Weekends per Quarter

Jackson + Coker is partnered with a facility in northern Illinois (about an hour and a half outside of Chicago) that is interested in proactively credentialing a General Surgeon to add to their locums candidate pool. The facility typically has needs for weekend call coverage once or twice per month, starting on Friday's at 7A through the following Monday at 7AM; However, they currently need coverage for an extended weekend in early May.

Job Requirements for Assignment #101734:
* Illinois state medical license + CSR required to obtain privileges
* Must be open to providing an NPDB self-query at time of presentation
* Board Certified/Eligibility required
* Bread & Butter General Surgery 
* On-call provider must be comfortable placing central venous lines, hemodialysis catheters and chest tubes
* Most routine operations done on call are laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic appendectomies, and exploratory laparotomies
* While the hospital is not a trauma center, the on-call surgeon is expected to respond to any level one trauma if requested by the emergency department. This usually involves stabilizing the patient for transfer to a regional Level One Trauma Center.
* Average of 0-5 patients per day + patient rounding  
* Facility details: located about two hours outside of Chicago, MediTech EMR, 100+ bed facility, not a designated trauma location
