4.5. Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% the time involved in direct patient care. 4.5.1. Per the qualification section of this PWS, the Contractor shall provide the following staff: 4.5.1.1. Anesthesiology physician 36C24524Q0458 Page 19 of 103 4.5.2. Scope of Care: Contractor’s physician (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Anesthesiology care, including, but not limited to: 4.5.2.1. Clinic and Surgical Care: Contractor’s physician shall provide clinical Anesthesiology services. Contractor’s physician shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. 4.5.2.1.1. Operative Services: Contractor’s physician shall provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services to include, but not limited to, patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic surgeries. 4.5.2.1.2. Contractor’s physician shall provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological suites, to include MRI. 4.5.2.1.3. Contractor’s physician shall provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management. 4.5.2.1.4. Contractor’s physician shall provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. 4.5.2.1.5. The following is a list of unique competencies the Chief of Surgery Service expects the anesthesiologist shall have: • Preoperative evaluation • Intravenous conscious/moderate sedation • Management of fluid, electrolyte and metabolic parameters • Airway management, basic and complicated, including all associated devices and techniques • Invasive monitoring (Pulmonary Artery Catheter, Central Venous, Arterial Lines) • Local and regional anesthesia with and without sedation, including topical and infiltration, minor and major nerve blocks • Management of intraoperative complications • Management of PACU problems 36C24524Q0458 Page 20 of 103 • Peripheral nerve block to include major plexus block • Manipulation of body temperature • Manipulation of cardiovascular parameters • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation including tracheal intubation, ventilation, and basic and advanced CPR monitoring • Joint and bursa sac injection • Trigger point injection • Cervical, thoracic, lumbar and caudal blocks • Differential spinal blocks • Cervical, brachial and lumbar plexus blocks • Stellate ganglion blocks • Celiac plexus blocks • Lumbar sympathetic blocks • Regional blocks of the head, neck and limbs • Blocks for the treatment of cephalgia 4.5.2.2. Medications: Contractor’s physician shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. 4.5.2.3. Discharge education: Contractor’s physician shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.

Physician must be Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiologists. ACLS, BLS
