Are you a dedicated Neurology physician seeking an enriching locum-to-perm opportunity? We are actively looking for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist to join our team near Lu Verne, IA. This is a unique chance to make a significant impact in a supportive environment, working alongside a team of professionals committed to providing quality care.

Job Details:

• Team Structure:
  • 1 Neurologist
  • 2 Advanced Practice Providers
• Reason for Opening:
  • Shortage of neurology physicians (1 currently)
• Clinical Setting:
  • Small outpatient clinic
  • Approximately 6 patients per day
• Faculty Opportunity:
  • Teaching opportunity for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents and medical students
• Stroke Center:
  • Primary Stroke Center
  • 2020 "Get with the Guidelines"- Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award Recipient
• Inpatient/Outpatient Split:
  • All surgical procedures available (except transplants)
  • Limited pediatrics; support OB, Cath Lab, and ED
  • Required neurology procedure: Brain Death exam
  • Sub-specialty interests welcome (EEG, EMG, Epilepsy, Sleep, MS, Movement Disorders)
• Grand Rounds:
  • Participate in Grand Rounds
• Call Schedule:
  • Non-burdensome call
  • Possibly unrestricted night call (within 30 min response time)
  • 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Sun-Sat)
  • 10-hour days (potentially 8-hour days, TBD)
• Patient Load:
  • 2-4 new patient consults per day
  • 6-8 patients total daily on average (new consults and follow-ups included)
• Teaching Expectations:
  • IM/FM resident likely to accompany

Clinic Details:

• Patient Demographics:
  • 50% over age 65
  • 32% age 45-64
  • 17% age 19-44 (Pediatrics is possible but very infrequent)
• Support Staff:
  • 1 nursing support on staff
• Onsite Facilities:
  • Lab onsite
  • X-ray on site
• EMR:
  • Cerner
• Trauma Level:
  • Level III Trauma
• Credentialing:
  • 8-10 weeks credentialing timeframe
• Physician Support:
  • Support provided before, during, and after each procedure
