The Medical Director is responsible for all aspects of medical care administered to patients for substance abuse and psychiatric services. Will admit and discharge residents and will develop or approve all medical protocols required by the facility. Recommends innovative medical program development and implements where applicable, reasonable and clinically sound. This individual performs functions that are clinically privileged.

***Participates as a team member in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings and participates in treatment planning process, approves all treatment plans and supervises its implementation; and
***  Provides the on call and weekend rotation services either on site or via beeper/phone, with coverage at night and on weekends and holidays observed by the facility provided through a rotation on-call basis.

Educational Requirements:

**Degree in medicine from an accredited medical school.
** Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
**Board Certified in Addiction Psychiatry preferred.
**Five years’ experience in practice of medicine or post-graduate residency program in a recognized approved AMA accredited specialty. **Knowledge of and interest in the physiological, psychological, and spiritual aspects of chemical dependence and/or addictions.
** Minimum of three years’ experience in chemical dependency programming/treatment experience required.
