Qualifications -

Board Certified - Infectious Disease
Licensed – SC Medical, SC Controlled Substance and DEA
Available for the specific dates listed below

Assignment Details –

This service is a hospital-owned practice providing inpatient ID coverage for ADULT patients only (18 years or older – no peds)
A typical day for locum ID Provider would include:
Seeing new Infectious Disease consults – consults MUST be completed within 24 hours of being placed (per our medical staff bylaws)
Round/Follow up on patients they have done new consults on
Answering telephone calls from providers/stewardship pharmacists to provide ID recommendations (typically 3-4 calls a day)
May have to do STAT consults via Physician to Physician phone call should the event arise (very rare that this is needed)
Inpatient ONLY – NO CLINIC
EMR – EPIC
No Midlevel support
Average anywhere from 10-20 patients per day
Consult volume – 7-8 per day
Does not have to be onsite for the entire shift. Medical staff bylaws require that providers get to the hospital within 30 minutes while on call.
