Health and Human Services is seeking a Psychologist (Counselor) at Austin State Supported Living Center. Please see the job description and details below.
The responsibility of the Psychologist will be to provide clinical care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses; conduct one-on-one psychotherapy, conduct assessments, and provide progress reports. Psychologists will coordinate therapeutic rehabilitation activities for individuals within a program area and develop protocols for the habilitation or rehabilitation therapy services. Assigns and/or supervises the work of others while working under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs and interprets assessments and renders therapeutic treatment to individuals. Performs behavioral evaluations and counseling services while determining psychiatric and counseling needs and is responsible for documentation. Participates in meetings to facilitate diagnosis and treatment planning while maintaining open and regular communication with other departments and members of the administration as needed.
Skills Job Requirements for all candidates Psychologist • Current and valid licensure in psychology • Graduation from an accredited college or university program with major course work (psychology or related field). Experience with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) preferred.
Notes • Must have a valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification • Must have negative PPD results within the last 12 months • COVID-19 testing with negative result required (we provide) • COVID-19 Vaccination card if applicable • Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (we provide) • Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (we provide)
