Description
South Boston neighborhood clinic is seeking a BE/BC OBGYN to join its team.
Provides direct patient care service within the OB/GYN department. Assumes care for high-risk OB patients as well as providing increased capacity for high-risk gynecology visits and routine prenatal care. Performs surgical interventions as needed, including surgery at a local hospital and approved office procedures. Collaborates with midwives in hospital and Health Center as needed, including seeing high-risk OB/GYN patients, and providing services that are outside the scope of midwifery practice. Consults & advises midwives as needed. Refers patients, as appropriate, to specialists and other practitioners and facilities. Visits hospitalized patients; serves on rotating hospital coverage schedules.
Our OB/gyn patients are admitted to Good Samaritan Medical Center. The hospital call group is approximately 8-10 physicians. Physicians provide 24/7 on-site coverage. Midwives are also on-site 24/7.

Neighborhood Health Center is a community health center south of Boston that serves a diverse population of 29,000 low-income patients. We have an extremely busy OB/gyn practice, with approximately 500 annual births and busy gyn. In addition to MDs, it employs 10 midwives who provide much of the routine OB/gyn care.
Benefits:- Clinic has a facility Health Professional Shortage Area designation with a score of 13 out of a possible 21. We are an approved National Health Service Corps loan repayment site. State loan repayment programs are usually also available. All loan repayment programs require competitive applications so cannot be guaranteed but BNHC has a very high success rate in obtaining loan repayment for our physicians. Physicians on visas are not eligible for loan repayment.
