Description
Ascendo Healthcare Staffing is seeking a nurse practitioner to provide locum tenens coverage at a NICU in a metropolitan area in the Midwest. 2 years NICU level III experience required. NP is scheduled for two 24hour shifts per week. (Unit coverage by one NNP, Faculty present during day shift, on-call at night)The NICU APRN Nurse Practitioner manages and coordinate nursing and patient care management for NICU in collaboration with physicians/interdisciplinary team. The NICU APRN Nurse Practitioner provides diagnostic as well as therapeutic intervention and day-to-day evaluation, including diagnostic and pharmacologic intervention under the direction of a physician. The APRN Nurse Practitioner plans, coordinates, and evaluates patient's health care. The APRN Nurse Practitioner provides diagnostic as well as therapeutic intervention and evaluation, including diagnostic and pharmacologic intervention. Performs or orders and interprets diagnostic testing. Utilizes referrals to other providers as needed. Writes prescriptions when having appropriate approved prescriptive authority. Performs office procedures within the scope of practice. Collaborates with health care providers across the health care continuum. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: Electronic Documentation - Epic w/ Alaris pump integration, medication dispensing system - Omnicell, ABC enteral feeding pump, Natus/GE Bili Blanket, Natus Bili Light and GE Bili Spot light, Phillips Cardiac/Apnea monitor, Natus Algo 5 Hearing Screen, Vapotherm, CPAP/SIPAP, Avea Ventilator
