The Position: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works with patients to ensure the highest quality of services regarding mental wellness. Incumbent is a key member of the mental health team and works together with the Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide services for mental health and substance abuse. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will help bridge the gap to provide efficient services for persons suffering from mental health and substance abuse disorders. Requirements:

Board Certified PMHNP
Active Florida license
Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Computer competency is required
Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
Show initiative, creativity and problem-solving ability
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare

Responsibilities:

Examine patients and record history
Adhere to proper charting protocols
Discuss with Physicians and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive plan
Order or execute tests or images as needed
Submit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review by Physician
Analyze results of tests, diagnose and report to patient
Administer or prescribe treatment and medications
Promote health by advising patient on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease
Inoculate and vaccinate as required
Refer to specialist as required for patient's well-being
Perform minor surgery
Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities
Other responsibilities as assigned
Documents clinical assessments and coordination of care in the medical management information system in a timely manner that meets regulatory and accreditation standards.
Promotes patient mental wellness.
Strive to promote patient self-advocacy and self-determination.
Advocate for the patient to facilitate positive outcomes for the patient, health care team, and payers.
Adheres at all times to general and clinical guidelines.
In all activities works to ensure linkage and integration of behavioral health and medical care.
Work independently solving problems within the purview of their authority.
Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality laws as appropriate.
