Description

36 bed hospital – They own 4 rural health clinics staffed by NPs.
The main clinic is attached to the hospital.
Average census is 4 or less on average but a doctor can admit more if they choose.

Motivation for hiring –
Historically, the clinic has always had 2 physicians and multiple NPs.
1 doc left due to personal health issue in about July 2018, was there 27 years.
Other doc turned in his resignation in Sept 2018. He was there 25 years.

Practice –
Preference is traditional in and outpatient but outpatient only can be considered.
They are in discussions to get rotating residents from Texas AM. They are already getting NP students. Maybe even a full year PGY3 slot in the future.
The hospital would like to start various programs such as wound care. Will also take a doctor who wants to do procedures such as botox/filler/etc.
EMR is CPSI.
Previous doctors averaged 40-50 patients per day. This is not a requirement, in fact the hospital would prefer a lower number with higher patient satisfaction.
Even with them seeing a high volume, there was a 3 week wait for appointments. AKA – There is plenty of work to be busy.

Compensation – $36,000 per year in stipends. Proven income over $400,000.
Doctors are independent contractors - 1099
They are paid a flat fee per patient seen. $30 per clinic patient.
It does not matter if the patient pays their bill, there is no claw back of compensation.
Docs will be allowed to do their own inpatient billings and collections. Or hospital will bill and collect it for them and a payment schedule/deal can be worked out.
They pay local doctors $100 per hour for taking optional ER back up call. ER is staffed by a PA.
Docs will get medical director title with a stipend TBD to oversee a RHC or 2. $1000 per month per clinic.
They also get $250 per month per NP they supervise.
Doc 1 made 400k last year plus approximately $100k for his own inpatient billing and extra ER work.
Doc 2 made 449k last year plus his own inpatient billing and extra ER work.
Hospital is happy to share revenues/profits from ancillary programs with the doctors who work in them.
